I have a friend who cuts herself. I also used to. Alright, first:

1. Figure out exactly why are you cutting yourself?

2. Find a way to make life more bearable, but it can't be something that will make it worse- like drugs. Find something to make life be
happier.

3. Confide in someone. Get help. Even if you don't think or don't want it, you really should. People aren't going to think your crazy. If you don't want people to talk down to you or lecture you- tell them that immediately. But do get a therapist. Get a therapist you don't hate to. If you get one you hate that would just be bad, and you don't want that.

Whenever you feel like cutting yourself, just stop thinking about it- don't let your mind wander back to it. Distract yourself with anything that you can find.

As for stopping smoking cigarettes, it's another matter of just finding some way to distract yourself. Replace smoking cigarettes with something that won't hurt you. Like chew a lot of gum.

Also even if you hate yourself remind yourself that you really are a lot better than you think you are. Even if you think people don't care about you, they do, a few really do care. Even if you don't think so. I also agree with you very much about emo being a pile of bullsh*t.

So what are the withdrawal effects of quitting smoking?

So I have quit smoking for about 3 days now, and I'm getting some weird withdrawal effects. Other than the obvious ones like cravings and eating more, I'm getting really weird ones. For example I just feel like spazzing out every once and a while, and I'm starting to laugh alot more for no apparent reason. I don't feel depressed, I just have this feeling that I've never had before that makes me zone out alot, can anyone else relate?

I can totally relate, I'm trying to quit myself. I had those feelings the first 48 hours, randomly hyperactive and silly. (not my normal personality) From what I've been told we have more nicotene sensitive sensors in the brain than any others, taking that addiction away does cause some weird things to happen when those sensors start acting properly again. It'll even out eventually. I keep about 3 packs of gum with me and chew it like a maniac.
