why can't I quit smoking?

I have wanted to quit for about a year. I have tried the patch (works for 4 days tops). I have read allen carr's book (worked better than the patch) but I still cant quit for good. I do "really" want to quit. I am unhappy when I smoke, and I dont feel healthy. Its so frustrating that I just keep lighting up when I really dont want to anymore. I'm so sick of it and feel so stupid and weak that I cant quit. Please don't type back telling me how stupid I am. I know some people can be pretty mean out there. Just want some helpfull advice. Any givers?? thanks.

I am in the same situation. The best thing that I have done is avoid places that I usually smoke, bars etc... and if that doesnt work, get one of your friends or all of them to break your cigarettes if they ever see them on you. You will get very frustrated with it. but its worth it.
you could also try running, its tough to run for most people as a smoker and it will hurt so it could persuade u to stop that way.
