E Cig Menthol Crystals

New to E-Cigs. What e-liquid should I get?

I have tried 2 kinds so far. I ordered menthol flavor and they both eventually start tasting like candy cane. I hate that sweet after taste and weak menthol flavor. I ordered menthol crystals to add to these but I'm thinking I probably am going to have to mix to get what I want.
Please help me former menthol cig smokers! I've been smoking about a pack a day, full flavor menthol. Been smoking 33 years. (waiting on crystals to arrive)
