Direct E-Cig: Quitting Cigarettes?
Quitting Smoking?
If you have ever tried to quit smoking, you know it is one of the most difficult things you have ever attempted. Addiction to nicotine is one of the most powerful addictions known to man. Regardless of what adjuncts you try to help you break the cigarette habit, you will undoubtedly experience weight gain and emotional unstability. Coupled with trying to wean yourself from nicotine, you are also trying to break the "hand to mouth" addiction developed through cigarette smoking. Kicking the habit is not fun!
The Direct E-Cig Assistance
The Direct E-Cig actually lets you "smoke" while you have the choice of decreasing the amount of nicotine you are inhaling. You can gradually break the nicotine habit without trying to break the "hand to mouth" habit at the same time. Breaking one addiction or habit at a time is much easier to accomplish. The Direct E-Cig is marketed in varying nicotine strengths and flavors. You can progress at your own rate of nicotine withdrawal, going from full strength nicotine, to light, to ultra-light, to finally no nicotine at all. This progression occurs without the presence of tars or other harmful chemicals found in the tobacco cigarette.
Other Notes:
In trying to decide if this option is for you, there are a couple of other things to consider:
- The "smoke" emitted by the Direct E-Cig is harmless to those around you, and readily dissapates. There's no second-hand smoke.
- The Direct E-Cig is legal everywhere; use it whenever and wherever you want
- Effective method to quit smoking
- If you elect not to quit, you can reduce the amount of nicotine you inhale and never get any harmful tars or chemicals
Would I Try It?
Fortunately for my lungs, I quit cigarette smoking (three packs a day) thirty years ago. At that time, I used a product called "One Step At A Time". These were a series of cigarette holders that filtered out all the tars and nicotine, each holder progressively filtering out more of the bad smoke until you finally got tired of cleaning the holders and quit after the fourth filter.
The Direct E-Cig seems to be the twenty-first century version this system as you can wean yourself off the nicotine while still "smoking". Even if you decide not to quit, you've done youself a favor by reducing the amount of nicotine, tars and other chemicals you're inhaling. If I was still a smoker, I definitely would give it a try!

Smoking E-Cigs in Public?
Hello, I was told today that it's completely legal to smoke an E-Cig on every public transportation unit except Spirit Airlines. Upon doing some research, I noted that the response was a little dated, but it says NO E-Cigs on the train. I want to know before I leave tomorrow, if the E-Cig is okay on the train. For reference I'm taking Amtrak.
Genberally speaking they can be used anywhere, But if one of the employees at where ever you want to use it says no you'll have to abide by them, Just ask before using it.
