Electronic Cigarette Nicotine Withdrawal?

I have been smoking an E Cig containing nicotine for almost six months now. Two days ago, I had to go to stay in the hospital for a clinical study (where I cannot smoke anything for twenty three days.) It is now day four of the study and I have been feeling very achy (especially my legs and lower back), had a mild headache going on 48hrs, and was unable to sleep. Usually I have problems falling asleep, but never had a problem with waking up every two hours. This is all freaking me out. I feel misreable.

So I guess what I am asking is if anyone knows whether an E Cig, something that is supposed to have a significant less amount of chemicals than real cigarettes, including tobacco, can cause these symptoms I am having. Or is it possible that I am psychologically feeling down about staying in a hospital for this extended period of time? Or the actual FLU?

Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Nicotine, regardless of the form it is consumed in, is a chemically addictive chemical. Yes, you WILL feel withdrawal effects from the ecig if you have been using nicotine in it.

The ecig DOES contain significantly less chemicals than a regular cig, but if you are still consuming nicotine in it, you are still getting the addictive chemical. Plus, switching to the ecig does nothing to uncondition the hand-oral habbit, nor does it give you other coping measures/strategies to handle stress without the nicotine.

But, keep in mind it IS possible your current stressors are exaserbating the symptoms.
